He manages to achieve ultimate simplicity by using a design and method with great complexity. Through the use of high pressure shaping of several layers of wood and paper pressed together, a very thin laminate lamp plate is formed, that appears almost entirely flat. The Ginger can then light spaces with indirect light and achieve the discreet simplicity Gaspar aimed for 'objects have to be in a place without making noise, without clamoring for attention'.
