The Vitra Eames Lounge Chair is perhaps one of the best-known creations of Charles and Ray Eames and is now available in an all-black version.

Its high comfort, quality of material and workmanship and its iconic shape have made the chair a classic of modern furniture history. The shell in black ash, the deep black leather and the carefully chosen details such as aluminium parts in pitch black give the chair an elegant and exquisite look. Two different sizes, classic and new, cater for different body heights, the classic version catering for more average height persons, the new version perfect for the taller person.

The 'classic dimension' version is the original version of the Eames Lounge Chair. The 'new dimension' version was introduced in order to cater for taller body types. It is recommended that if you are around 6ft 1 inches tall and above, you should consider choosing the new dimension version. The Ottoman is the same size for each version.

Material & finishes
Seat and backrest shells in moulded plywood with black lacquered Ash veneer. Upholstered in Vitra Premium leather in black, a smooth cowhide leather with a flat grain and fine top sheen. Thickness 1.1-1.3mm; fastness to light – Type 5. Base in black powder coated metal.
